The British New Zealand Business Association (BNZBA) has announced the appointment of international business advisor Paul Beare as its new Treasurer, strengthening ties between the two nations at a time of growing trade opportunities.

The appointment comes as the UK–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) continues to deliver strong results, with “more than 80 percent of eligible goods trade now using preferential tariffs,” according to recent government data.

New Zealand exporters have also recorded “over 20 percent growth in UK trade in the past year,” underscoring the benefits of the FTA and the increasing opportunities it is unlocking.

Paul Beare is the CEO and Founder of his eponymous specialist accountancy and consultancy firm, which helps international businesses establish and expand their operations in the United Kingdom. His firm has supported more than 350 Australian and New Zealand companies across industries such as fintech, SaaS, healthtech, retail and services, offering a one-stop shop for services ranging from entity formation and tax to payroll, banking and compliance.

“It is a pleasure to be appointed as Treasurer to a very forward thinking and like-minded group of members who have business interests in cross-border activity between the United Kingdom and New Zealand. With the Free Trade Agreement driving growth and opportunity, it’s an exciting time to be strengthening these connections and supporting businesses on their international journeys,” says Beare.

The BNZBA is an independent not-for-profit membership organisation dedicated to driving growth in bilateral trade and investment between New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Acting as a key platform for companies and professionals engaged in UK–NZ trade, the association provides advocacy, networking, and support to help members navigate the complexities of international business.
