New Zealand’s homegrown brand, Organic Garden (OG), is making waves in Australia with its latest initiative to support youth development beyond national borders.
Under the banner of “The Wisdom of Growth, Rooted in Science,” OG has proudly become the official support partner of the Victorian International Optimist Dinghy Association (VIODA). This collaboration reflects OG’s commitment to empowering young sailing enthusiasts, fostering community values, and reinforcing its corporate social responsibility.
Empowering young sailors with VIODA
Organic Garden’s partnership with VIODA is built on a shared mission: To help young people pursue their dreams. VIODA, a volunteer-driven non-profit, has been instrumental in promoting youth sailing in Victoria, providing an inclusive, fair, and dynamic environment for young sailors to hone their skills. The organisation not only nurtures a passion for sailing but also fosters multicultural and interfaith cooperation, creating a strong sense of community.
With notable alumni such as Chinese Olympic sailing champion Lijia Xu, VIODA has a well-established reputation for developing young talent. Through this sponsorship, OG strengthens its brand image while actively contributing to youth development on a global scale.
A spectacular event on the waves
The recent VIODA sailing competition was a thrilling display of talent and teamwork. Held over three action-packed days, the event brought together 88 competitive sailors across 90 teams, who battled it out in 14 exhilarating races.
Supported by esteemed sponsors including ZHIK, Sly Boat Building, North Sails, Mornington Peninsula Shire, and Equity & Super, the event also received backing from Australian Sailing and Australian Sailing Youth.
- March 8: The competition kicked off with registration, equipment preparation, and sponsor welcome addresses, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.
- March 9: Sailors took to the water in a series of intense races, with a dedicated photography team capturing unforgettable moments.
- March 10: The final races culminated in a prestigious award ceremony, celebrating top-performing teams and individuals.
The event saw an impressive turnout of 120 volunteers and 850 spectators, with 30 trophies and six cash prizes awarded, making it a landmark occasion for the youth sailing community.
Organic Garden’s brand presence and market expansion
As a key sponsor, Organic Garden enjoyed high-impact brand visibility throughout the event. OG’s presence was felt across multiple touchpoints, including:
- 30 dock flags, race boats, and competition markers, prominently displaying the OG logo.
- Customized competition kits featuring OG products, branded T-shirts, neck scarves, and stickers.
- Branded trophies and prizes, ensuring OG’s name was closely associated with achievement and excellence.
A major highlight of the event was the announcement that OG products are now available at Chemist Warehouse, marking a significant step in the brand’s Australian market expansion.
