Computex Taipei, the world’s second largest and Asia’s largest information and communications technology (ICT) trade show, will take place June 1-5 this year, focusing on e-readers, cloud computing, 3D technology and mobile Internet.

The show, now in its 30th year, is expected to attract a record-breaking 35,000 international buyers this year, according to FocusTaiwan News Channel.

So far, 1,750 exhibitors from 20 countries have signed up for the annual event, occupying 4,700 booths and representing a rise of 50 exhibitors and 205 booths from 2009, the channel says, the quoting Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

TAITRA has also predicted that the value of business opportunities to be created this year will surpass the USD$20 billion recorded in 2009.
