Port of Auckland has been named as finalist for four awards at the upcoming Deloitte Top 200 Business Awards to be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Port of Auckland has been named as finalist for the following awards:
- Jan Dawson for Chairperson of the Year;
- Roger Gray for Chief Executive of the Year;
- Diversity and Inclusion Leadership; and
- Company of the Year
Taylor Gibbs, Stevedore at Port of Auckland says: โThis recognition means a lot to us. We have seen the port change a lot over the past few years. Itโs a safer and better business. We know the work we do makes a difference and weโre proud to work for the port.โ
Over the past few years, the port has made changes across its operations, as well as to the company culture. The result of this evident in the portโs annual results released earlier this year pointing to a 22 percent increase in underlying profit and a final dividend payment of $20m to Auckland Council.
Roger Gray, Chief Executive of Port of Auckland says: โWhanaungatanga and celebrating our diversity has been at the heart of our transformational journey.โ
โBeing selected as a finalist in four categories is a privilege and is a reflection of the hard work our team puts in every day. It’s been a great year, and I want to thank everyone for their hard work in reaching our goals while continuing to prioritise safety and look out for one another.
โI also appreciate the unions for their ongoing support. It has been a pleasure to see the port deliver for Aucklanders, Council and the region,โ says Gray.
The Deloitte Top 200 Awards are held annually to recognise and celebrate outstanding individual and management team performances among New Zealandโs largest companies and trading organisations.
