Hong Kong’s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced that freight rates from south east Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East) to Australia, will be increased by US$300 per TEU from October 1, according to the Shipping Gazette.

OOCL said the increase was needed to “ensure the continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater for our customer requirements”
