Record export growth backed by clear strategy and a focus on customer needs won Fisher & Paykel Healthcare the Supreme Exporter Award at the Auckland Export Awards.
Prime Minister John Key presented the award to Fisher & Paykel Healthcare in recognition of the company’s success.
ExportNZ Auckland Executive Officer, Catherine Lye, says judges were very impressed by Fisher & Paykel’s results.
“Fisher & Paykel have a clear, well-articulated business strategy that produces outstanding results, delivering a record profit,” says Catherine.
“Fisher & Paykel invests heavily in R & D, delivering innovative products while its investment in training, health and safety and staff sets a benchmark for other companies,” she said.
Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is a recognised world leader in developing medical devices and systems for use in respiratory care.
For example the company’s Simplus face mask, treating sleep apnoea, was developed through a customer focused approach with designers working alongside patients to understand how sleep apnoea equipment was used, helping to develop a more effective product. The innovative design has helped Fisher & Paykel Healthcare steadily increase market share since its launch in 2013.
Fisher & Paykel Healthcare also won the Baldwins Intellectual Property Commercialisation of Innovation for Export award.
