Three shipping companies have announced increased freight rates from the Far East to Australia, according to the Shipping Gazette.

China shipping line COSCO has announced that it will raise rates for shipments from Far East Asia to Australia from January 1.

The increase from Far East Asia to Australia is US$500 per TEU and US$1,000 per FEU on all origins from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

Genevaโ€™s Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) has also announced it will raise rates for shipments from South East Asia to Australia from January 1.

The increase from South East Asia to Australia will be US$200 per TEU on all origins from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore.

FRENCH shipping line CMA CGM’s unit, ANL, said it will raise rates for shipments from Asia to Australia from January 1.

The increase from Asia to Australia will be US$200 per TEU on all origins from Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and south east Asia.
