Palmerston North based Thermaflo recently exported a 27,000L per hour HTST juice pasteuriser to Tru Blu Beverages in NSW. It's the second pasteuriser Thermaflo has designed, fabricated and commissioned for the company. With a high percentage of Thermaflo's projects coming from return clients, building strong professional relationships, such as the one they have with Tru Blu, is very important, according to company spoksperson Shaun Sullivan.
The pasteuriser was designed and built in Thermaflo's workshop over four months, a relatively small time-frame given the size and intricacy of the pasteuriser. Tru Blu's process meant Thermaflo had to come up with a very complex and sophisticated design to insure the required functionality. Thermaflo commissioned the new pasteuriser on site. Dealing with an expensive product meant there was very little margin for error. Thermaflo had to make sure the pasteuriser would operate perfectly on the first run – a big challenge with a pasteuriser of this size.
This new pasteuriser should allow Tru Blu to keep up with demand for years to come. It is safe to say after a successful commissioning, they are happy with the quality of this New Zealand made processing equipment, says Sullivan.
