Hamburg Süd has won a prestigious Global Freight Award Award in the Environment category.
Sustainable action is a matter of course for Hamburg Süd – in the interests of the environment, society and employees as well as its customers. Reducing emissions plays an important role in this. For its commitment in this area, the shipping company has now received the Global Freight Award 2018 in the category Environment.
The award is granted by the British specialist publisher Lloyds Loading List. The decisive factor for the independent jury to present the award to Hamburg Süd was a project to reduce sulphur dioxide emissions in ports, which Hamburg Süd implemented together with its customer Electrolux.
Dr. Arnt Vespermann, Chief Executive Officer Hamburg Süd says: “We are very pleased with this award. It shows that Hamburg is responding individually and cooperatively to its customers’ wishes with innovative solutions and at the same time makes an active contribution to protecting the environment.”
Further information on the award-winning project and the current Sustainability Report can be found on Hamburg Süd’s website.
