How to maximise opportunity and minimise risk for your next stage of export growth

Trading on the global stage is challenging.   Research has shown that exporters who are well connected with other exporters and seek good advice, outperform those who choose to go-it-alone.

ExportNZ is proud to bring to Northland, the first of a series of events which is dedicated to helping businesses like yours achieve your global growth aspirations!

ExportNZ Auckland in partnership with Northland Inc warmly invite you to join us at the first of our Export Growth series, where guest speakers will share their own unique export journeys including what worked, what didnโ€™t and their advice for people in the early stages of operating on the world stage.

We will conclude each event with time for networking over refreshments โ€“ recognising the importance of exporters sharing real world experience in going off-shore.

Our guest speakers are as follows:

Josh Townsend, Director Marketing & Sales –  Zeffer Cider Co

Josh has a marketing degree from the University of Otago. His entrepreneurial drive led to him joining Zeffer early in 2011 after sampling Zeffer at the Matakana Farmers Market. Since joining, he has led the growth of the business from a turnover of $77k in 2011 to being on track to hit $2.7m in 2018.

Josh manages all external aspects of the business including sales, exports, brand direction, marketing strategy and key business relationships. He is now focusing more of his time on driving Zefferโ€™s export growth and works closely with key stakeholders in Zefferโ€™s export markets.

Jules Smith, CEO โ€“ WashBar

Jules founded WashBar Natural Pet care company in 2010 after a friend asked her to develop a bar of soap for her dog suffering from flea allergy dermatitis. Within 3 years that bar went on to become the single biggest selling product for washing dogs in New Zealand. WashBar now has a comprehensive range of pet products that deal with fleas and problem skin issues.

With the business firmly established in her home market she set her sights on the world and now exports to 9 countries.

Roy Moody, Consultant (ex-CEO of Phitek Systems)

Roy is the former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Phitek Systems Limited a 100% export technology company. Roy lead the turnaround of Phitek to make it the global leader in its field with a 5-fold increase in profits and a 4-fold increase in revenue in 4 years. He then managed the very successful sale of the company to a New York Stock Exchange listed technology company in 2017.

Roy has over 20 yearsโ€™ experience leading design, product and process innovation for highly successful New Zealand based export businesses delivering commercially successful technology products to business customers in the global market.
