Prim’land, the leading French producer of kiwis, estimates that their production orchards will grow by more than a fifth within the next four years, according to a report by FreshPlaza.com.
The growth is underpinned by strong export sales which position them as one of the leading exporters of French kiwis in the world.
Prim’land is currently in 35 countries all over the world and they market their kiwis under the Oscar brand. The brand was created over 30 years ago and has been notable for breaking into several new markets, including being the first French kiwi to make it to market in India and China.
Their large distribution network has allowed them to be the leading French exporter of kiwis in several markets. For the 2010-2011 season, they were the leading exporter of French kiwis to Oceania, Asia, North America, and they were the only French kiwi presence in all of South America.
With such heavy activity, they saw over 12,000,000 Euro in export sales last season. That heavy sales growth has, in turn, led to increased planned acreage for growing.
