Kiwi marine company TruDesign has won the prestigious Dame Award for the second year in succession at METS in Amsterdam, the world’s largest marine equipment show.

With 117 entries from 26 countries the TruDesign innovative ‘Skin Fitting Installation Tool’ won the Marine Equipment Category.

The judges commented that TruDesign winning for a second year in succession delivers a huge endorsment of the company’s approach to design-led development.

“Last year we won with our ABYC Load Bearing Collar, which has changed the concept of a skin fitting and ball valve assembly,” explains a jubilant Alan Maddox, managing director of TruDesign.
“This year our Skin Fitting Installation Tool has revolutionized the way all skin fittings are installed into vessels worldwide.

“To win this award is great recognition for all our staff and proves that New Zealand companies can indeed compete on the world stage through innovative design.”
